HRI holds workshop with Washoe County, NV (Reno) on how to integrate their local Law Enforcement Systems.
HRI meets with 30 agency representatives about integrating their data systems along the I80 corridor from Reno to San Francisco.

 Integration - SOA

HRI researched and reviewed appoximately 54 products that allege they are extremely effective as middleware and found it very difficult to find good, objective, evaluative data on how good and bad the products are. They are all very expensive and one has to be very cautious when putting all their eggs in one basket.

HRI has had tremendous experience with the Briyante Integration Environment from Visiphor Solutions. This software enables us to access different production databases in “real time” and to serve them up in a Web Services, .NET system. With one user name and one password, the authorized application users all gain access to the divergent databases.

HRI’s Configurator enables the developer (or the client’s System Administrator) to (a) establish security roles for different types of users, (b) establish the number of panels and frames on the web pages, (c) specify the colors of backgrounds, fonts, headers, etc. Anytime after their integrated solution is in production, all these variables can be modified, even while users are actively using the system.

What are the major impacts of this approach and capability?

  • You don’t have to move data anywhere into expensive, cumbersome data warehouses.
  • Your data is always current. The minute you dump data from one system to another or to a data warehouse, it is out of date and incurs serious risk of people acting on data that was accurate once, but now is no.
  • Speed. You don’t need months of analysis and hard coding to create your application. It can literally take a couple of hours or days to implement and configure your system.
  • We can “Plug and Go” by hooking up a simple server, placing Windows 2003 and Briyante on it, obtaining a data dictionary and/or schema and configuring the system.
